Rumor has it that men are safer and more reliable drivers than their female counterparts and the insurance company disagrees to such misconception. Their business believes is to increase their profit and reduce their risk. They have measure almost every metric that you can think of, just to acknowledge that women are better drivers than the men in today's world.
With the use of demographic data (e.g. age of those drivers involved in the accidents and gender) as part of their formula, the insurance company has historically calculated policy rate. This means that the demographic group with high level of accidents will have the bigger insurance rate. With this calculation, women have proven to be safer drivers than the men.
